If you’re interested in getting food that’s sustainably grown, you should have a look at this site. The Stewardship Index aims to collect information about all aspects of food production, from growth to final sale, with metrics measuring things like water use, energy use, destruction or non-destruction of wildlife habitat, and many more.
For those who want to contribute, they’re taking comments until 18th July, so please register and comment to help them create meaningful metrics that can help growers do the right thing and help consumers know who’s doing the right thing.
For more information about the sort of metrics and what they mean, have a read of Sara O’Brien’s post on this topic on Defenders of Wildlife.
